If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you can return it to us within 30 days of receiving your order. By purchasing from our website, you agree to the below policies.

 

Online Order Returns


Policies

 

Free returns In-store

Items may be returned in-store free of charge. Any item purchased online can be returned to any store, although not all items are stocked in all stores.

Alternatively, please complete the returns form that you will receive with your order and return at your own cost choosing one of the below options.

 

DPD Returns

Visit DPD Returns Portal and select Shaws Department Stores to proceed. Choose from 600 drop-off locations, 7 days a week. A standard fee is incurred.



Click & Post Returns

Click & Post with An Post offers a quick and easy way of returning your online shopping. It is label-free, so there is no need for a printer. Book your return and choose from home collection or post office drop-off.

Simply visit An Post Click & Post Returns, select Shaws Department Stores as your retailer, select your reason for return from the list of options and finally provide your order number. You can then choose if you’d like to drop your return to your local Post Office or you can book in a collection and your return will be collected from your home on your chosen date. It’s that easy! A standard fee is incurred. 

 

Processing your refund

Refunds will be credited to the original method of payment used to process the payment. If products received as a gift (the recipient is not the purchaser), the refund will be processed onto the original card used as payment for the order. 

 

Refunds cannot be given (save as otherwise provided) on:

  • Used: Face masks/coverings, underwear (bras/briefs/swimwear), bedding, cosmetics, pierced jewelry, headphones. 
  • Other sealed goods deemed unsuitable for return under health protection and hygiene reasons and which were unsealed after delivery* 

*Please note this does not affect your right to cancel, except for in the case that the item is unsealed by the consumer after delivery.

  • Gift cards received as a gift cannot be exchanged for cash. This does not affect the purchaser's right to cancel. 
  • Perishable goods, sets or hampers containing perishable items.
  • The consumer is obliged to take reasonable care of the goods prior to returning them.

 

The consumer has the right to inspect the goods in order to examine the characteristics and value of the goods, as long as they do not go beyond this and use the goods. In this case, returns can be accepted for items with open packaging so long as the goods remain unused. 

 

It is our policy to return goods to the purchaser if we suspect that any item(s) have been used or worn, are soiled, damaged or smell of smoke or any other In these circumstances, refunds or exchanges may not be granted. This does not apply in respect of faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods where your statutory rights are unaffected.

Please note that the online images are for information only and colour reproduction online might differ from the actual product.

To qualify for a refund, all products must be returned in accordance with the Shaws Department Stores returns policy set out above.

Your right to cancel

While we would bring your attention to our General Refund Policy above, if you are contracting online as a consumer and are an EU resident, the EU Consumer Rights Directive provides that you may cancel a Contract at any time within 14 days, beginning on the day after you received the products.

If you have purchased products from the Website and if you decide to cancel your order, the Directive provides that you must advise us within 14 days of receipt of the products. You can email Customer Services at online@shaws.ie stating your wish to cancel your contract and quoting your order reference number.

You must return the items to us at the above address (See Returns policy above for details on returning items and a list of products that cannot be returned). You will be responsible for any cost incurred or risk in returning products. You have a legal obligation to take reasonable care of the products while they are in your possession and you will be responsible for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling of the goods beyond that necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.

Under the Directive, if you fail to inform us within 14 days you will not have a right to cancel the contract and return the products. This does not affect your statutory rights and you may still be able to return products under our General Refund Policy.

We cannot guarantee that all order cancellations will be successful in the first instance. In the case that your order is sent after you have requested a cancellation, we will do everything in our power to retrieve the order and issue a full refund.

 

Faulty/incorrect products received

In the unlikely event that you have received the wrong products from SHAWS Department Stores or that the products are faulty or damaged in any way, please contact our Customer Service team at online@shaws.ie. Should we not be in a position to replace the product (ie. the item is no longer stocked) your original delivery cost as well as the item cost will be refunded. 

 

Returns FAQ

 

How long will it take to process my return?

Returns are usually processed within 48 hours of receipt but please allow up to 7 days for refunds to appear in your account. This may depend on how long your bank or card issuer takes to process the refund on their side and unfortunately is out of our control.

We can only refund you by the same method of payment you used when you originally placed your order e.g. for customers using Credit or Debit cards this will be refunded back onto the same card.

 

Who pays for the return?

Returns to any of our 16 stores are free.

If returning by post or DPD, the cost of returning items will be at your own expense, except for faulty items or where an incorrect item has been received. In cases where an error has been made or an item is damaged on delivery, please contact online@shaws.ie to resolve your issue. 

 

What happens if I receive the wrong item in my order?

In the unlikely event you receive the wrong items, please contact us straight away. The quickest way is to email online@shaws.ie . 

In these circumstances, customers will be offered a remedy in the form of Repair, Replacement or Refund, in this order.

Where a product is determined to be faulty, we will refund your original delivery charges and you will not be charged for any extra postage costs incurred.

 

Items purchased instore:

Instore purchases must be returned in person to any of our stores.
